Ludwig Erhard Zentrum
The Ludwig Erhard Zentrum (LEZ) is a unique exhibition, documentation, meeting and research center for Ludwig Erhard and his concept of the social market economy, which is located in Erhard’s birth town of Fürth. It was inaugurated in 2018 by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Prime Minister of Bavaria Markus Söder, on the 70th anniversary of the German Currency and Economic Reform of 1948.
The LEZ sees itself as an interactive learning location and an open platform for dialog about contemporary history, economics and politics. Our goal is to familiarize the wider public with the fundamental and contemporary significance of Ludwig Erhard’s economic, social and financial policy and discuss the specific political and social consequences associated with the social market economy in the sense of Ludwig Erhard.
Our exhibitions, events and museum education program are designed to help young people to understand the economic context of their living environment, design economic activities competently and independently and be motivated to become commercially active themselves.
